Alternative Sweetners....
Ok, let's say I've stopped sweetening my tea with artificial sweetners like Splenda and nutrasweet.
And instead I've switched back to table sugar.
Is 2/3rds cup of table sugar in 1.5 gallons of green tea adding an exhorbitant amount of empty calories?
Also, is there any benefit in using HONEY instead of sugar? and what would the exchange rate be. I.E. 1 cup of sugar = 1 cup of honey?

Your 2/3rds cup of sugar is approx 600 calories,
Per 100g, honey has approx 281 cal, and sugar has 400 cal

Why not try it without sweetner? It's not that bad, once the taste buds have got used to it.

I started at 1 cup of sugar per gallon awhile ago, I slowly dropped it down with each gallon. 3/4 cup, 1/2 cup, 2/3, 1/4. I am down to an 1/8 of a cup per gallon and it is getting too sweet so I think I'm going to try no sugar next time. I just reduced it little by little to get my tastebuds use to it. I have also found Lipton Diet White Tea, peach papaya flavored. It has 0 cal, 0 fat, 60 mg sodium, 0g carbs, 0 sugar. There is also a berry flavored that is good. I also opt for crystal light sometimes or this twist tube thing from Nutrilite that has vitamins in it but no cal. The Strawberry kiwi for immunity is really good. 1 twist tube is about .60 cents and flavors a 20 oz bottle. Theres lots of options out there now days

Ya, I'm all about the Lipton diet green and white tea. The raspberry is off the chain.

If you're looking for a tea with flavour, there's also Earl Grey, of course that also tastes better without milk. Watch some of the flavoured varieties/blends, some have liqourice and such like in them, which is okay in small quantities, or if you enjoy living on the loo. Where herbal teas are concerned, it's also suggested that at least one day of the week people do not have herbal teas, in order to give the system a rest.
No sugar, no milk...you can taste the tea
