Default Just starting out

Hi guys.
I just started a couple of weeks ago on my massbuilding endevor.
Here is my before shot
(Please excuse the poor taste in clothing)

I read your forums and articles and found a lot of valuable information
that i used to start of my program.

I'm using an exercise program i found on M&S called 10 week mass building program
I really like it since i can use freeweights for most of the exercises.

I take inventory of my progress on mondays. That includes
  • Weight gain
  • Fat percentage
  • Measurments
I calculate what my optimal calorie/protein/carbohydrate intake should be
and i adjust it every monday since i'm always gaining weight.

So far i have gained 11lbs or 5,5 kg and the measuring tape says i'm getting
larger in all areas except my stomach(wich i like since i was developing a beer gut)
I have managed to keep my calorie intake fairly high and i avoid all fast food.
I eat 6-7 meals a day including my protein shakes(2 a day average)

I smoked for 8 years but quit 10 months ago and i used to drink fairly often.
I am one of those people who say "no matter what i eat i won't get fat" and
while that may be true to some degree it is certainly not a healthy way to
live. Thin on the outside fat on the inside.

I would love to hear some thoughts on my training routine, method and physique.

I will update soon with pictures and stats on my progress.

Well, typically I would say you should have started on a beginners routine, but it seems like your pretty far along on this one already. My only concern is injury. Make sure you get good warm up sets in and streching exercises/cool down after your workout. Seems like you have it all under control... keep up the good work and a close eye on the calories (thats what makes or breaks most people).
