Thanks guys, I appreciate the support.
I did my first cardio workout today. 30min on the stationary bike and then 30 min on the elliptical.
I also started the diet and I can highly recommend the Lemon Thyme Chicken recipe I made it with boiled red potatoes, small portion of brown rice and a fresh peach for desert. DELICIOUS! I packed some up for lunch on Monday. KUDOS DOUG!
Tomorrow will probably be the beef stroganoff

Hey nice pics, my body would look similar. I did note though it seems that your back is either rotated or your hips do not look even. It may be how you took the shots. Are you perchance having any back discomfort?

No pain, Unless I sleep on the floor or the couch. I've been married 11 years, so it happens. Might be the camera and just my general I don't care stance. lol

The past few years have been way to busy for me, and I'm ashamed at what I have become and want to stop it all before it gets worse.
I sit at my desk all day long just about and it shows I guess. My plan is to build muscle and get leaner in the process. I'd like to play flag football a little this fall and join my buddies tackle football league next summer. I've already start looking at the diet plans, recipes here and I will be leaving the office early to stock up on what I'll need for the coming weeks. My wife is all for it and I figure with both of us involved it will be alot easier to stay motivated. I might start out with a beginner plan for a few weeks, then hit Doug's Routine over the coming months and see how it goes.

Mate you're in a good place to start, not too fat, I was much heavier than you a couple years ago and far less active for too long. The only thing I see from the pictures is that your posture seems a bit off kilter so I would caution you to pay extra attention and really concentrate on working your back when you start the split so you can correct the slight slouch you have going on now.

Maybe I should hit up a chiropractor?
I did break my foot over the winter and by the way the pic looks that side is high. After walking for so long trying to keep weight off of it and with the boot, maybe I managed to tweak myself?
I did my first day of the beginner yesterday.
3.5MPH on the treadmill for 10min, 5min warmup and 5min cooldown.
Did the Monday version of the 3 day with 90 sec in between sets. 2 min in between machines to drink a little water and set up.
3 sets of knee lifts until I couldn't take anymore
Then walked on the treadmill for another 10min to kind of wind down until the wife was ready to go.
Did the post shake and dinner last night and I feel great. Not sore, so I guess I i can up the weight a bit.
Diet is going great also

I would wait until you finish the 12 week beginner programme and see how your body is aligned with a bit more muscle tone. Just be VERY conscious of working both sides with equal effort.

I feel I am out of shape, everyone else thinks I'm not too far off. Either way I need some work and tonight is another workout night for me and I'm stoked. Going to kick up my warmup/cardio a bit before and after.
Just with the change in diet over the past week I'm feeling way better. I haven't touched a soda in over 3 weeks, drinking water, 2-3 protein shakes a day with my snacks, and getting regular sleep for a change. Going to be a battle, but I feel I am up to it.
