Hello M&S experts. I am a lady just starting again at the gym now with some cardio and fitness class but I would like to start using the weights.
I am overweight and my main goal is to lose fat but gain muscle. Should I start with the 12 Weeks Beginner Routine or could I do the 12 Week Workout Program to Gain Sexy Muscle and Curves! (from the article Women's Body Bible)? Also, if I was to start on the beginner routine would there be any benefit to working out more than twice a week? start with the beginners workout, figure out your BMR (under the tools section) the subtract 500 from that number and try and consume that many calories every day. The first time you lift, definitely use manageable weight because it's going to be a shock to your system. Then start increasing weights as you get more comfortable in the later weeks. Eventually you can look at the workout routines in the fat loss section, plus there is a female workout that includes a cardio routine to help you lose weight.
