Default Cardio before or after weights?

I just got a pro elliptical from my goalie coach... full on pro great machine.. I'm eager to work it in to my weight lifting as my stamina in hockey games is low.

Do I do it before or after the weights?

I'm thinking before to get the heart rate up, but I thought I would ask anyways.

Thanks!

After. Some guys warm up with 5 minutes of cardio to get the body temp up.

You want to keep the muscles fresh for heavy loads.

So you're saying if I want to do a 30 minute cardio.. I should do it after the weights then?

If your goal is muscle size then as BtB says above, after weights. But if your goal is aerobic endurance then before.

Yes. Hit the weights hard first.

Yup, after the weights. Warming up is a good idea though, 5 minutes should do.
