I need to know if my goal is realistic, and if so am I on the right track or should I change some things around.
I started back lifting and getting serious about cutting on November 2nd, 2009. I was 211lbs, 44"waist and 5'10" tall when I started, around 29%BF. I have stuck to a -500cal diet, watching my foods to ensure they are all good foods (except for my 1 day a week cheat), and I constantly get 200grams + a day in protein using whey and foods. I calculated my calories for a few weeks and noticed that I was on track so I have stopped tracking them now. The below is my weekly routine; Sunday - 1hour weights (legs & Abs) - 45Minutes of LIT Cardio Monday - 1hour weights (Chest & Biceps) - 45 Minutes of LIT Cardio Tuesday - Rest Day Wednesday - 1hour weights (Back & Abs) - 45 Minutes of LIT Cardio Thursday - 1hour of weights (Shoulders and Triceps) - 45 minutes of LIT Cardio Friday - Rest Day Saturday - Rest Day I am currently 188Lbs, 37" waist and around 21%BF. I need to know that I am on the right track, however most important can I hit my goal of 10%BF by the end of May? Should I look to decrease my calories more or change my routine? I am asking this as I have not seen any real changes over the past 2 weeks and think I may have hit a struggling point! Thanks for the help everyone. |

My first thought would be it wouldn't be worth struggling all the way down to 10% bf on your first go, but stop somewhere before there and start adding some muscle mass. I'd personally want to have some mass to show before I got that low in bodyfat. However, if your long term goal is only to be thin, go for it.
Also congrats on your fat loss so far! |

My goal is not to be skinny, just to be tonned and not have that fat little belly that I currently enjoy! LOL. I have a decent amount of muscle mass for my size, and I am sure that if I cut down it would actually make me look even bigger than I am. My goal of 10% was in hopes of getting rid of the belly and love handles, and I am not sure of that is possible with a higher BF%. If I can reach this goal, i will enjoy it for the summer and then do a bulk in the fall. |

First post but make sure you recalculate your needs if you lost 22 pounds the amount of calories you need per day should have dropped at least a Little

It does sound like you've done a great job so far though, keep it up. Apart from that, having some lean muscle mass on you will HELP you burn fat faster! It might be hard to get down to 10% otherwise (at least healthily). |
