Question Working Out Soar Muscles

Just a quick question...

I had to take 3 weeks off from my normal workouts due to a elbow injury. I came back on Sunday and did Chest and Tri's and yesterday I did legs. My entire body is very soar as I expected it would be. I am due to do shoulders today. Should I continue with the workout or will I do more damage than good?

Thank you!

Well thats the benifit of working out certain muscle groups on set days.
If for example you do Chest and Tri's on Monday.
Wednesday you may do Back and Bi's.
Even if you are still sore by wednesday you aren't using the same muscles as Monday.
So by the time Monday comes round again you should be healed.

However, you shouldnt workout sore muscles/injuries. Insure you are getting the correct amount of rest and a good diet. This will speed up recovery.
Hope that helps.

I just want to state that you might be suffering from Delayed onset muscle fatigue.... and this topic has alot of controversy surrounding it... My personal opinion regarding it is , since DOMS has nothing to do with Protein syntheses , Keep working out & eating properly , it will subside... I couldn't run my regular 3 miles the other day so I did 500 jumping jacks as a cardio... my calves feel like they have completely separated from my legs... its been 4 days and they still feel like I am getting kicked by midgets with each step... BUT I am not going to stop working out because of that!

if it is an actual injury then yea , by all means take it easy and do a restorative workout wit light weights or alternative exercises to keep the blood flowing and to utilize your muscles without straining them to much or hurting any injury..
