Default New member looking for someone with experience to help

I have been reading this site for quite a while now and decided it was time to create an account for some help. I am 22 years old and am looking to put on some muscle but stay lean at the same time. I am not sure what my body fat% is as of right now because I don't have the tools to calculate it. If any senior members could throw me some good advice I would greatly appreciate it. I am 5' 11" 186lbs. My ideal weight would be somewhere between 195-200lbs. Any and all advice is welcome. Thanks

I'd recommend going to the tools portion of the site and use the BMR calculator to determine how many calories are recommended for someone your height and weight. Take the amount of calories recommended and subtract 500 cal from the number the BMR calculator gives you. Compound that with a good workout routine from the Beginner's Workouts and you should be good to go. Keep in mind that the biggest issue that most people have in consistency.

I'd also recommend finding a nice low calorie protein and a good multivitamin. For the protein, i'd recommend the Optimum Nutrition Whey. In terms of the multivitamin, I prefer Animal Pak.

Hope this helps & Good Luck!

Oh, by the way, if you want to measure results, you can buy a tape measure and caliper for like 10 bucks from either Muscle and Strength or Amazon

Thanks for the help. I will definitely get those vitamins. However, I am not sure on doing a beginners routine. I had worked out for 3 months prior to now doing my own set of lifts. Would the Intermediate 4 day split from Troy be a more suitable workout for me?

If you're skinny, i'd do this routine. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/wor...g-program.html

Thats the routine that i'm currently doing. I love it 8-)

If you're a bit bigger and looking to cut. http://www.muscleandstrength.com/wor...g-routine.html

I have multiple friends doing this routine and they love it.
