Angry BIG Forearm

I never worked out forearms. but take a look for yourself. other than my chest this is the second thing i hate. im not bragging i just hate that my forearm sticks out as much as it does, maybe if my tricep was huge it wouldnt look as weird, but it looks weird. I had "tenis elbow" in the past, but now im good other than the part that my forearm tightens during every workout. I feel that im working it out doing anything other than legs.

When i curl, when i do tricep pushdown, i feel like im hitting my forearms. My form is spot on tho sooo idk whats going on here...hopefully i can get some advice. I got veins all over my forearms and there exploding 24/7. ill try to get a better pic.

Hard to tell from that photo, doesn't look too bad. When you curl do you use one of those curvey bars, or a straight bar? A straight bar works your forearms more because of the angle, one with the curve (aka curling bar)it sets your hands/arms so that the bicep are more focused on and takes away the stresses a bit on your forearms.

Big forearms rule, veins popping out of your forearms rules harder. IMHO you have small forearms and it certainly doesn't look weird. But to answer your question, you use your forearms alot in many different exersises. Especially back exersises which require pulling motions. If you want to minimize the use of the forearm muscle, try using a grip on back exersises which do not use your thumb to grip the bar. Just hook the bar with your index, middle, ring and pinkey finger. This takes away pressure from your forearms. Another thing you can do is invest in a good pair of weight lifting straps for back exersises.

I don't think you have overly large forearms no disrespect , just from the picture you posted you don't seem to have a disproportionally large forearm , but even if it is larger then you want the other muscles will play catch up & your forearms should stop gaining in size eventually...

ps: if you are lifting with a thick lifting glove that creates a larger circumference it will utilize your forearms more , using a skinnier bar will also decrease how much influence your forearms have in most exercises.

Just took a look at the 2 pics, and your forearms look fine to me...could be that you're overthinking and analysing the issue too much ? They really don't look out of proportion, at least not in the pics.

Sounds like you might be gripping things with a "DEATH GRIP" instead of just a slightly tight grip. Grip the bars just tight enough for safety. Don't try to choke the bars.
