Default Weight Bench advice please.

Hi,
I bought one of these in the middle of last year...

This year I am taking everything more seriously and using a proper routine and diet.
I have detatched the Arm Curl bits on the bench so it was purely a bench press/leg extention bench.
However... I was wondering whether doing arm curls (if this is the correct term) on this bench would be benifical? As opose to dumbell arm curls etc.

Thanks for any info about this.

I have a very similar one as yours. What I do with mine is to use the arm curl bits when I work on my biceps and detach it when I don't need it. Preacher curl using that arm bits is useful in my opinion because it helps preventing you from swinging when doing the curl. The exercises I do for biceps are standing barbell curl, dumbbell preacher curl, and concentration curl.

Ok, and is it best to lay flat on the bench? Or raise it alittle?
And I take it its best to do both arms at once?

Can anyone please tell me which muscles are used when using the arm curl attachment on this bench?

I'm guessing Biceps, Chest?(pecs)
Any others?

Thankyou.

A "curl" works the biceps primarily. Your forearms also get some work when you do curls.

My pecs routine consist of 3 exercises, all of which are 4 sets of 10:
Flat bench press, incline bench press, and incline dumbbell flys. So, to answer your question, you need to adjust it whenever you need it. You don't just set it to flat or incline or decline. Everyone of them is useful. I use decline for my abs work (sit up with weight on my chest).

I do both arms at once to reduce the "resting period" in between curl. The only curl I do one arm at a time is concentration curl... You just can't do both arms at the same time in that exercise.

I know about adjusting to angle for bench presses etc.
I just wondered about the curls...
Because due to the angel of your arms when laying on the bench, flat is the only way they can be done.

Are you talking about the preacher curl? You're not lying when doing preacher curl... you're sitting at the small flat portion of your bench that's not adjustable... so I don't quite understand your question.

Preacher curl instruction is here.

No no, in the picture at the top there is a curl attachment eitherside of the bench (near where your head would lay)

The exercise which you would do on there is what I'm questioning about.
