Good God, have you ever heard of punctuation? I had to read through that about 3 times before I could figure out what you were trying to say. You sound like you want more of a muscular endurance workout, which would be something with higher reps.

I've been told around 12-15, and try doing a lot more body weight exercises for high reps. since you're going to be doing push-ups, do a lot of those every day. And since you're trying to improve your time on the 2-mile, get out there and run longer distances. Be sure to read around on the site here about caloric intake, etc.
