Default weak wrists/hands, how to strengthen?

I sometimes get a sharp twinge in my wrist when I workout (curls/benchpress). It is hindering me moving up to more weights/reps. My hands, fingers and wrists seem weak and their not getting stronger, which I thought would happen as I work out since they have to support the weight. I have an older Bowflex that I have been using now for the past 2.5 months, but since seeing this site, I just bought some free weights and a bench to go along with some of my excercises I still will do on the Bowflex. Curling and benching with it, as I recently increased both excercises by 10lbs has sometimes given me the twinge on the very high points of these workouts in the final reps(only once in a while). So what can be done for the weak wrists/hands?
Thanks!

For the hands/fingers you can get one of these from a local sports authority etc: http://www.amazon.com/Gripmaster-Exe...4603663&sr=8-1

For the wrists the best is probably dumbbell wrist curls:

Go to Gripboard.com. If you have a question, they have an answer. They have all sorts of info on hand / wrist strength.

Back in the old days they used to tie a weight to a stick. Then hold the stick out and raise the weight by rolling the cord on the stick.

I have the same problem with my wrist. Don't know if this will help , but I bought a pair of lifting gloves with wrist straps and it has helped me.

i have a similar problem to you so ive started doing wristcurls
the action is like a normal curl but you only move your wrists as im sure u can guess. if you dont have a bench of some kind try sitting down and lying ur arms along your legs with your wrists hanging over the end then use a barbell on a light weight as the exercise is difficult.
hope that helps

I endorse this. The wrist wrap will also prevent you from using suicide grip when doing bench press like this picture. It will force you to use the correct straight wrist form like this picture.

Well... here's the whole site: Hand/wrist position.

I actually don't understand why the example in this site uses the dangerous suicide grip. See here for yourself.
