Hello everyone,
I have been training for just over two months now, Im 21, 73kg, 5"10. I do four day splits through the week with a catch up day if i feel i need more work on sunday. I have seen some good progress so far in size and defintion but i have a question. Im diabetic and see such things as 'insulin spike' etc when training, I was wondering if what im doing is correct as im trying to use the 'synthetic style' insulin to my advantage, basicly before and after i work out i will take a injection with my protein shake and creatine. i still take it normal through my day but thats my normal routine. Im just questioning if this will be helping me or putting me at a disadvantange having a burst of insulin before and after a intensive workout. Im under the influence that the insulin will help transfer the protein and creatine to my muscles before and after to help recovery and growth etc. I can appreactiate that alot of people get a bit worried answering these sort of questions but i look forward to hearing back from people on this. thanks ![]() |

I think you know what the answer is... you gotta talk to your doctor.
For myself I'm a type 2 diabetic on insulin I've been getting good results. My last A1C was 6.2 so its helping me. There are a lot of articles on training and diabetes and all are positive. So get with your doctor and find what works for you.
