I'm a goalie, I take my sports very serious, but I'm only a rec player.
I'm wondering about working out on Game days. I usually play in the evenings 7-10ish area. I usually work out 5pm'ish. I am currently doing Dougs 4 day split workout routine. Games land on those 4 days occasionally. I'm wondering if I should skip that day before a game, or if I should lighten up the load on game days. Or if I should just go full boar regardless of the game or not. Any tips would be great! J. |

I worked out a little during football season, and from my experience of that, it all depends on how sore you get from the workouts. If you feel really tired, sore, or fatigued after working out, it would be smart to lighten the load a little to the point where you can still perform well in your soccer games but get a good workout at the same time. Just my two cents.

Are your game days fixed or due they vary?
I would try a workout (other than legs) and see how you feel during the game. Get a good meal in between. Work legs hard when you can get a few days recovery in. |

The game days vary...
The last two weeks they landed on Shoulder day, and I felt fine. I plan on skipping leg days. |
