so when working out the shoulders should i start with the dumbbells delt flys and extenshions ect, then move on to the shoulder press or do the shoulder press first the move on to the dumbells

Most people start with the press exercise. I would say start with whatever part you want to build the most first in your routine, like side delts...to make the shoulders wider.....the choice is yours...

its totally upto you but i usually will do a main press movement such as smith machine or barbell press behind the neck or in front, or the same with dumbells.....i do both dumbell and barbell(smith machine) just your choice witch 1 first.....then i will do my front delts with front delt raises, supersetted with side delt raises and reverse flys(to train the rear delt) to finish with. i have had great results when using this routine for shoulders. every 4 weeks just rearrange the order you do things!

good luck

Personally, I always put my big compounds first...no matter what muscle group. They require more energy and (usually) result in the most muscle growth. But like the other have already said, I switch things up as well

I agree with Doug. I usually start with the presses, but my side and rear delt's were lacking, so I moved them to the front and they have pretty much caught up in a short time.

well as has already been said if you want to work on your side delts then do them first with dumbells.but if your looking at shoulders generally then start with dumbell press followed by a compound press eg smith machine, or vise verser smith machine first. biggest excersise first i usualy do.

good luck
