So technically im not a beginner but it has been a while since ive been on a regular workout routine at the gym. Lets start with the stats: im 20, 6'0, and weigh 225lbs. I played one year of football in high school (my senior year) but am looking to play again in college. Im currently in my second year of college at a community college. Right now i dont play any sports an just recently got a gym membership again. I am trying to tone up and get my six pack back for the summer time but still keep my size for football. What would you guys recommend for meeting those goals? Help me out here...
Also what workout routine would you recommend to meet these goals? Last edited by Chris2343; 01-18-2010 at 05:46 AM. |

There are several, burning fat/cutting routines posted in the workouts section but the key advice you will get is about diet and lifting heavy to maintain lean muscle mass. you will also need to add quite a bit of cardio, check out Dougs routine here:
http://www.muscleandstrength.com/wor...n-routine.html Read through the tips on nutrition and calorie deficits along with advice given to ther posters, there is a lot of information and help on here.

From what I understand, you will need to get your bodyfat % well below 10% in order to see your six-pack. Check here to see where you are, and that will help you know how far you might still need to go.
