Question in need of insight

I'm 25 yrs old and 6 feet tall @ 245 pounds. I have a few noob questions.

I have been bulking for the past 6 months. I have read that you have to eat big to get big. In my case I already have extra weight to carry, do I still need to up my calorie intake to bulk? Or can my body use it's fat to build muscle?

Any info/insight is greatly appreciated!

Fat does not turn into muscle. To add muscle, you need to eat a surplus of calories over your BMR.

To cut fat, you need to eat at a deficit to your BMR.

Fat does not turn into muscle.
