Im changing to a early AM workout so I dont have to queue for equipment and also can get more time to relax in the evening. My question is breakfast before workout or after?

A trainer at my gym also mentioned that your spine isn't properly aligned until you've been awake and moving around for three hours and there's apparently a much larger danger of long term spinal damage from heavy workouts in the AM. I've heard the best time to workout is in the afternoon but if you plan on exercising in the morning eat at least one meal (breakfast), wait an hour for digestion and then go.

You should eat some complex carbs a hour before your workout in the morning, and then again 2 hours after your workout.

If you like the sensation of bloated stomach while working out - feel free to pig before going to gym.
My experience has been - take a heavy dinner. Something that is filling, something that prevents the hunger pangs when you wake up. Once you wake up have something extremely light or small, and do the WO after giving time for this to settle down. |

I know this is probably bad but I get up at 6:30 and i'm lifting by 7:15. The second I wake up I drink whey protein with water, take my vitamins, and eat a piece of whole wheat bread. Seems to be working fine for me.
