Default Egg White Question

I am still very new to the gym and working out, but I am on my second month now and increasing my game as I saw some gain last month, I would definately like to see more.

I posted once before about my diet, which apparently was shocking, thanks for the advice, I have fixed that with a much improved diet.

However, everywhere I read there is someone going on about egg whites, I know what they are, but I have two questions.

1) Why do people rant so much about egg whites?
2) How do you ingest them? or

Thanks again for any help

Hi.
Egg whites are a good source of protein with no carbohydrates and a negligeable amount of fa. Its best to just cook them to avoid ingesting various sickness causing bacteria.

1) People often use egg whites as opposed to the full egg because you get the protein you need without all the fat. Yolks are still good to have as the fat in them aids in digestion, but having a 2:1 egg white to whole egg ratio is a good place to start.

2) Just prepare them as you would a regular egg, scrambled, poached, hard-boiled, etc.

Quote from Doug:
frying foods is in fact bad..

When oils are subjected to high heat rapid oxidation and other chemical changes take place when the oil is subjected to high temperature in the presence of light and oxygen. Antioxidants in the oil are used up, the frying preduces free radicals that starts a chain reaction in the oil molecules. Years of eating fried foods will cause the body cells to accumulate altered and toxic products.

Remember that when fried foods turn brown they are in fact burnt. The nutrients in the browned material have been desroyed, proteins turn into carcinogenic (cancer causing) acreolin, When frying starches and sugars go though molecular destruction, and fats and oils are turned to smoke by the destruction of the fatty acids and glycerol.

The least damaging of the frying fats are, coconut, palm, palm kernel, cocoa butter and ordinary butter...

I agree with ReeveT50

Hi I would agree with the frying at high temps but frying at as low temp as you possible using ghee (clarified butter which does not burn as easy)
is healthy I'd say.
Also I would reccomend including the egg yolk as not only does it aid digestion but it also contains essential minerals and fats, I prefer scrambled.

i usually get either...

egg beaters: it is egg whites already in a package.

or 4egg whites+1whole egg.. beat it and microwave it.

or sometimes...
i do X egg whites + Y whole Eggs + 1/4cup Milk and microwave. comes out pretty good imo.

(1) The egg white has a high biological value and its amino acid profile and its protein is the highest for human nutrition.

(2) Drink them or eat them
