We'll I'm sorta a newbie to working out myself
but I always thought for someone who is not already skinny or naturally fit
is to first spend sometime doing a cutting routine and cutting down fat. Then concentrate on building mass.

Quess it depends on your goals is it to be big? or cut? definition with some increase in mass?

In the end it is all good as long as your trying to get in shape
