Creatine provides the muscles with energy and is made by the body naturally but the body doesn't produce enough creatine to sustain a bodybuilders routine. What creatine isn't absorbed into your muscles will be excreted in the urine, so you don't have to fear it making you fat.
Think of it like filling up your car, you still use gas when you are on the highway or if you're driving in the city... the city just depletes the gas faster.
The tank will only hold so much gas, so when the tank is low you have to re-fill it. The same with our muscles, they will only have so much creatine stored in them, so you have to be sure to "top off the tank" so that your muscles have creatine readily available during your weight training sessions....
