What's the difference between compound and isolation exercises?
A compound exercise bends at two joints and uses two muscle groups while an isolation bends at one joint only and isolates a single muscle group. Compound exercises build more muscle because more muscles are used and more muscle fibers get worked. Compound exercises also allow you to move much heavier weights.
