Overhead Barbell Extension Instructions:

The overhead barbell extension can be performed either sitting on a bench or standing. Grip the bar with an overhand grip with hands about 12in (30cm) apart. Lift the bar above your head with your arms fully extended (see picture). Bending only at the elbows and keeping your elbows tucked in, lower the bar down behind your neck until your triceps are fully extended. Raise to starting position. Repeat.

Tips and Safety Advice:

As with all tricep exercises you need to keep elbows tucked in at all times. If you don't do this, your shoulders will take over and you will get little effect on your triceps. You wil get better results using a lighter weight with strict technique.
